Privacy Policy

We keep PromptSleeve free with ads, not by selling your personal data. This policy explains exactly what we collect, why, and the control you have over it.

Last updated: 15 August 2026

1. Who we are

PromptSleeve operates the PromptSleeve prompt library and is the controller of the personal data described here. You can reach us at legal@promptsleeve.com for any privacy question or request.

2. Data we collect

Account data. Your email address, display name, password (stored only as a hash when you use email sign-up) and, if you sign in with Google, the basic profile information Google shares with us.

Content you create. Prompts you submit, preview links or images you attach, credits you add, and the moderation status and history of those submissions.

Activity data. Prompts you save, prompts you copy, filters and searches you run, and newsletter opt-in status.

Technical data. IP address, browser and device type, referring page, and timestamps collected automatically in logs and analytics.

Messages. Anything you send us by email, through a report, or via a sponsorship or takedown request.

We do not ask for or want payment card details, government IDs or any special-category data.

3. How we use your data

  • To create and secure your account, and to sign you in.
  • To publish, credit and moderate the prompts you submit.
  • To power saved prompts, submission tracking and copy counts.
  • To send password resets and service notices, and the newsletter if you opted in.
  • To measure traffic, understand which prompts are useful, and improve the library.
  • To display and measure advertising and sponsorships that fund the free service.
  • To detect abuse, spam and fraud, and to comply with legal obligations.

5. Advertising, sponsors and analytics

PromptSleeve is ad supported. Advertising and analytics partners may set their own cookies or similar identifiers to measure impressions and limit repetition. Those partners are independent controllers of the data they collect and their own privacy notices apply.

Sponsors receive aggregate, non-identifying performance reporting only — impressions, clicks and placement-level metrics. We never hand over your email address, saved prompts or account activity.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising as those terms are defined under US state privacy laws. See our Cookie Policy for controls.

6. Cookies and local storage

We use cookies and your browser's local storage to keep you signed in, remember filters and theme preferences, and hold your saved list. Some of this data stays on your device only and is cleared when you clear site data. Full detail is in the Cookie Policy.

7. Who we share data with

  • Hosting, database and email providers that run the service on our behalf.
  • Authentication providers, including Google when you choose Google sign-in.
  • Analytics and advertising partners, as described above.
  • Law enforcement or regulators where we are legally required to respond.
  • A successor entity if the project is ever transferred, with notice to you beforehand.

8. How long we keep it

  • Account data: for as long as your account exists, then deleted within 30 days of closure.
  • Published prompts: retained after account deletion so the library stays intact, de-linked from your profile on request.
  • Rejected submissions: up to 12 months for moderation history and appeals.
  • Newsletter records: until you unsubscribe, plus a suppression record so we don't re-add you.
  • Logs and analytics: typically 12 months, often in aggregated form.

9. Security

We use encrypted connections, hashed passwords, access controls and least-privilege practices for internal tooling. No online service can promise perfect security, so please use a strong, unique password and let us know immediately if you suspect a problem with your account.

10. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Access a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correct inaccurate details, directly from your profile page.
  • Delete your account and associated personal data.
  • Export your submissions and saved prompts.
  • Object to or restrict certain processing, and withdraw consent.
  • Opt out of the newsletter using the link in every email.
  • Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

Email legal@promptsleeve.com and we will respond within 30 days. We never discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right.

11. Children

PromptSleeve is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

12. International transfers

Our providers may process data in countries other than yours, including the United States. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.

13. Changes to this policy

We will update the "last updated" date whenever this policy changes and will highlight material changes on the site or by email where appropriate.
